Tom Martin, CFP, CPWA, AIF

As a specialist for physicians, Tom has been privileged to conduct private financial briefings for some of the top medical departments in the country including those within Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, and the University of Michigan.

Tom is a partner at LFG and currently serves as the Regional Director of our Great Lakes and South East regions. Tom is also actively involved with our investment policy, financial planning, and executive committees. Prior to joining LFG, Tom served as a private wealth manager and financial planner with one of the region’s top multi-generational wealth management firms as the director of their medical division.

Tom is a co-author of Doctor’s Eyes Only: Exclusive Financial Strategies for Today’s Doctors and Dentists and a co-host of the Doctor’s Eyes Only podcast. As a frequent speaker and author, Tom’s investment and financial planning advice has been published in medical resources such as Medical Economics. He has also been featured on CBS®, spoken to several professional groups on advanced planning topics for physicians, and has completed advanced training in asset protection planning, investment, and tax planning through the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Tom is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), a CERTIFIED PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISOR (CPWA®), an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), a member of the national Financial Planning Association™ (FPA); the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA); and the Estate Planning Council of Fort Wayne. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and completed his graduate education in financial planning at the Institute of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University and through the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He has also participated in graduate training in marriage and family communication. For his graduate work in financial planning, Tom was inducted to the Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Omicron Nu scholastic honor societies.

As the next step in his professional development, Tom was recently admitted to Harvard Business School’s prestigious Program for Leadership Development where he has the opportunity to collaborate and train with some of the top professionals in healthcare and finance. As a previous professor, Tom served as the Chairman of Taylor University’s CFP® Certification Education Program and Advisory Board after helping the university build and launch the state’s first CFP® education curriculum for professionals.

Tom and his wife, Rachel, are very active in their local community serving various charitable boards and their local church. They are also active in the Larson Financial Foundation’s efforts to empower international communities through sustainable business and sharing hope in places of greatest need. Tom enjoys spending time with his three children: Grace, Jacob and Jackson; playing/coaching sports; reading; writing; and college football.
