Larson Financial Group is seeking a candidate for a full-time, entry-level developer at our headquarters in Saint Louis, MO. The position reports to the IT Project Manager. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8-5 p.m. A successful candidate will have excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, and a strong ability to understand business needs and technology capabilities. A strong desire to learn and grow is a plus for this position.

Position Summary: Participate in requirements gathering sessions to gather business processes, current and desired. Use requirements gathered to design systems that fit the desired functionality of current or new systems. Develop and deploy code that fits the requirements gathered. Participate in testing at all stages, refactoring legacy and new code as needed. Support the IT Helpdesk as needed by handling helpdesk tickets, providing remote support via phone, or in-person troubleshooting.

Major Functions:

  • Design and develop extensible systems based on business requirements
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions
  • Provide estimates for task completion time
  • Participate in collaborative code reviews
  • Mentor new developers
  • Participate in the aspects of a pseudo-agile development environment
  • Manage source control system to facilitate development best practices
  • Deploy code base between development, test, and production environments
  • Troubleshoot application and system bugs, and provide effective and timely solutions
  • Manage Active Directory users and permissions
  • Create and apply Group Policy objects
  • Create scripts to perform administrative tasks in multiple environments
  • Provide support for Helpdesk ticket resolution in a polite and timely manner
  • General server setup and support
  • Setup and support virtualized machines
  • Provide setup and administrative support for SharePoint
  • Setup and manage database servers
  • Provide support for network troubleshooting
  • Provide administrative support for an Office 365 environment
  • Manage DNS configurations
  • Conduct interviews for potential employees
  • Provide insight for employee acquisition and termination decisions
  • Provide User-Training documentation

Skills and Abilities (may be representative, but not all inclusive):

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems (7, 10, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012)
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 administrative functions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Technologies for advanced system support (PowerShell)
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Understanding of DNS configurations

Salary:

  • $45,000 – $50,000 depending on experience level
